Broadcasters, electronics associations spar over TV viewing figures A new survey by the Consumer Electronics Association purports that only 7 percent of American households rely on antennas alone to watch TV—a figure the National Association of Broadcasters said is pulled from thin air. According to the industry publication Broadcast Engineering, CEA surveyed 1009 U.S. adults and asked them about their viewing habits. The group found that 83 percent of TV households subscribe to pay-TV services such as cable or satellite.
